This medication is used to prevent vomiting and nausea caused by radiation therapy and cancer drug treatment i.e. chemotherapy. It is also used to prevent and treat nausea and vomiting after surgery. It blocks one of the body’s natural substances i.e. serotonin that causes vomiting.
