Ammonium Chloride + Sodium Citrate + Diphenhydramine + Menthol is a combination of four medicines which relieve cough. Ammonium chloride is an expectorant . It decreases the stickiness of airway secretions and helps in their removal from the airways. Sodium citrate is a mucolytic. It thins and loosens mucus , making it easier to cough out. Diphenhydramine is an antiallergic. It relieves allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing. Menthol is an organic compound . It produces a sensation of coolness and relieves minor throat irritation.
